Plano is a northern suburb of Dallas, located 20 miles northeast of downtown. It is bordered by Richardson to the south and Allen and Frisco to the north. It is an affluent suburb and is home to many corporate headquarters including Alliance Data, Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, Ericsson, Frito-Lay and Toyota to name a few. It is named by Salary.com as the #1 Best place to build personal wealth and raise a family. In 2016, Money Magazine ranked Plano #2 on its list of Best Places to Live in America. Plano is served mainly by Plano ISD but small pockets are served by Frisco ISD, Allen ISD and Lewisville ISD. Plano ISD schools includes 3 early childhood, 44 elementary, 13 middle, 6 high, 3 senior high and 1 Academy high. Plano is well known for its parks and bike paths. It is located by many commuter routes making it a commuter friendly community.
